Naked Martini

What's a vermouth and how do you pronounce it? And, where do you buy it?

Those were the questions I encountered when I tried to make my first martini. So, having gin but no vermouth, I chose a gin-less martini recipe called a naked martini.

What it did require making was simple syrup. Which is apparently sugar water with the water boiled out.

All right, simple syrup. Now I just have to wait for it to chill.

Then, you pour a glass full of ice (I prefer crushed)...

Add your gin...

And then add your chilled simple syrup.

It was a good drink, but not exceptional like some of the other gin drinks you will see COMING UP NEXT!
