And now for something I've been wanting to do for awhile. You see, normally when I make sausage I chop it to bits as I fry it. But not this time! This time my sausage is a hamburger patty I'm going to fry!
Eek, I always forget the danger of heating oil in a pan that's just been washed.
Turning it over, it does look like a burger!
I don't know how much you have to cook sausage to make sure the inside is done, so I'm going to have to make well done burgers.
Eek, I think I overdid it.
Now that I've got my patty, I want other stuff on my burger. Starting with bacon.
Now I just need to fry my "buns." I learned this awesome way to continue using a pan full of oil from my sister.
That's a lot of oil.
I need a second paper towel.
There, now for the buns.
Which are tortillas.
I didn't quite get out all the oil, as was evident when I flipped the torillas over.
This burger could use some cheese. Of two types!
I flip them over to melt the cheese.
The cheese melts really fast and I end up with a stringy burnt cheese lump on one tortilla.
Other than that though, the cheese melted pretty well.
Lastly, I have some leftover onions I can grill.
I've been shifting all my ingredients to a separate pan for assembly. Here's what we have.
At the last minute I decide some scrambled AIYggs would be good too.
It actually ended up being more of a torn up omlet.
NOW I have all the ingredients.
Assembly time! I start with the lower tortilla and the piece of bacon glued to it by the cheese on it.
Next is the AIYggs.
And now the sausage burger patty.
The other slice of bacon.
Now, Taco Bell has taught me that sour cream is really good on tortillas.
All the onions that I could fit on.
And lastly, the other tortilla.
Done! This is a lot bigger meal than I thought it would be. If I'd known in advance I would have cut it in half.
It was yummy! Really yummy! Great breakfast food!
